If they are original photos, and you just keep them in a drawer, then the views are lost to History if you don't - plus I won't get the chance to ogle them either!SteelonSandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12231931971295669901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688947053556352475.post-8658152009913382592010-01-09T16:42:56.087+00:002010-01-09T16:42:56.087+00:00Very nice pictures SoS! I am uncertain if they will scan very well but include the following: HMS Glory, HMS Philomel, HMS Aboukir, HMS Cumberland, HMS Lancaster, HMS Queen, HMS Bacchante, HMS Suffolk, HMS Sutlej, HMS Canopus and and two others that have defied identification!I will have a play around with them and see if they are usable.

All the best,

OgrefencerDavid Crookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02497436789811496047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688947053556352475.post-12028885296209335452010-01-08T22:04:18.386+00:002010-01-08T22:04:18.386+00:00I am not sure but I think that those two were the ...I am not sure but I think that those two were the only ones although they did have a bunch of ships with guns so small they used them for fishing instead of fighting.Game Master Rob Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08198920658123610173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688947053556352475.post-80106181787228341932010-01-08T19:21:03.820+00:002010-01-08T19:21:03.820+00:00Hi ArmchairGeneral, yes, I quote from Lawrence Son...Hi ArmchairGeneral, yes, I quote from Lawrence Sondhaus's "Naval Warfare 1815-1914":

"Once commissioned, these floating fortresses did not handle well on the open sea; even on rivers and in calm waters their shape left them prone to a spinning motion which rendered them worthless as warships." LOL!

I think they would make pretty fine looking minis, but not much good for anything else. Tell me- were there other such oval disasters afloat in the Russian Fleets?SteelonSandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12231931971295669901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688947053556352475.post-31429504661267609752010-01-08T17:19:02.784+00:002010-01-08T17:19:02.784+00:00Weren't the Novgorod and the Popov nothing mor...Weren't the Novgorod and the Popov nothing more than monitors and didn't they have a very shallow draft which sort of prevented them from going to sea?Game Master Rob Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08198920658123610173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688947053556352475.post-86102710836535238612010-01-08T01:14:08.754+00:002010-01-08T01:14:08.754+00:00Ah the Novgorod and the Popov, revolving turntable...Ah the Novgorod and the Popov, revolving turntables of wobbly pre-dreadnoughtiness!
Now some original photographs of them would be a real find!SteelonSandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12231931971295669901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688947053556352475.post-2377478495827463572010-01-07T23:41:20.052+00:002010-01-07T23:41:20.052+00:00My dad has been using General Quarters 2 for his p...My dad has been using General Quarters 2 for his pre-dreadnought battles.
